Cubs

The Cubs Section is called a pack and provides scouting for young people between the ages of 8 and 10.5, we have an energetic pack of boys and girls who are welcoming and friendly.

We meet on a Tuesday evening during term-time from 7:00-8:30pm at our scouting HQ on Bailey Close, E4 9GH (top of Normanshire Drive) Most nights we can be found at our HQ, but sometimes we will be out and about exploring the local community.

For Cubs, enjoyment, excitement and adventure are key. Cubs are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and day trip experiences.
Their programme of activities offers a vast array of activities focused on team building, experiences, knowledge, and badgework including craft, pioneering, sport, nature, life skills and scout skills.

Who are Cubs?

Cubs are young people aged 8 to 10½ who:

  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Have fun and go on adventures
  • Make friends
  • Are curious about the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, in their own communities and beyond

Every week, they gather in groups called Cub Packs to take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.

Uniform

Cubs wear core uniform of a green sweatshirt and a group necker.

Uniform can either be bought from Scout Shops Ltd or a local supplier. You can ask the leader for more information on what and where to buy.

We don’t want anyone to miss out through financial hardship. If concerns about finances may prevent your child taking part in Scouting or some activities, speak to your Pack leader, as some assistance may be available in confidence.

Here’s where to sew on those badges…
