Beavers
The Beavers Section is called a colony and provides scouting for young people between the ages of 6 and 8, we have a friendly colony of boys and girls who are welcoming and active.
We meet on a Tuesday evening during term-time from 5:30-6:45pm at our scouting HQ on Bailey Close, E4 9GH (top of Normanshire Drive) Most nights we can be found at our HQ, but sometimes we will be out and about exploring the local community.
At Beavers they enjoy all that Scouting has to offer including an introduction to outdoor activities, the opportunity to be creative, explore their local community, a great mix of art and craft, badgework, forest walks and experience the excitement of a Beaver Scout Sleepover with their friends.
Who are Beavers?
- Master new skills and try new things
- Have fun and go on adventures
- Make friends
- Are curious about the world around them
- Help others and make a difference, on their own doorsteps and beyond
Every week, they gather in groups called Beaver Colonies to hop, skip and jump their way through lots of different games and activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.
Uniform
Beavers wear core uniform of a turquoise sweatshirt and a group necker.
Uniform can either be bought from Scout Shops Ltd or a local supplier. You can ask the leader for more information on what and where to buy.
We don’t want anyone to miss out through financial hardship. If concerns about finances may prevent your child taking part in Scouting or some activities, speak to your Colony leader, as some assistance may be available in confidence.
